Throughout the year, scouts are awarded points for participating in various scouting activities. These points are gathered and counted throughout the year by the Senior Patrol Leader and Troop Scribe. They are awarded on a monthly basis based on any scout-related activities that scout participated in that month. The individual points of each scout are pooled with the points of the other members in their patrol. At every PLC, the Patrol Leader must turn in both a physical and electronic copy to both the Senior Patrol Leader and Troop Scribe for that month. A patrol will be deducted points from their final total for each day they fail to submit their patrol’s points for that month. At the end of the year, the Troop Scribe will total the points submitted by all of the patrols throughout the entire year. At the annual Birthday, the patrol with the most amount of total points wins and receives the Inter Patrol Contest Cup.
NOTE: Discretionary points are sometimes awarded by the Senior Patrol Leader for special tasks or outstanding accomplishment completed by individuals or patrols.
